Make it Ubuntu

Ubuntu has its own unique characteristics and to keep it that way we have made some things we would like you to use when making your apps. Here they are.

1. Use the developer’s toolkit

Here is our handy developer’s toolkit which contains all the essential building blocks to
help you get started! We use our building blocks to keep our apps consistent, and so we
don’t carry other platform’s UI elements or behaviours.

2. Use Ubuntu’s font

Our unique font has inspired our Ubuntu UI elements in a very distinctive fashion so it’s especially important that you use it when you are building your app.

3. Use bottom edge swipe for controls

Our toolbar lives at the bottom edge of the screen as a footer. It’s where we put app functions and features.

4. Display Back button in the toolbar

Our back button is always placed in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
